Jagannath University is a government financed and UGC approved public university of Bangladesh. It is situated in the southern part of Dhaka city and near the river of Buriganga. It was established as Jagannath College in 1910 and it was transformed in to Jagannath University in 2005 by passing Jagannath University Act-2005 in the national parliament.
