Barishal is a division of Bangladesh which is situated southern part of the country and on the bank of Arialkha River. It is bounded by Dhaka in north, chittagong in the east, Khulna in the west and bay of Bengal in the south.

Sundarban is the Largest Mangrove forest in the world located in southern Bangladesh and a small part of India state of West Bengal. Area hold by sundarban is 10,000 square kilometers and nearest cities are Khulna, Satkhira District, Gosaba, Namkhana and Bagerhat Sadar Upazila.
This is the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world.
